    CWGA – Getting started in Golf for Women
    Just getting into golf, or thought you might want to? Ever feel intimidated at the golf course?
    Not really sure how to make a tee time or what those funny looking things on the ground are on the teeing ground? Hey what is a teeing ground anyway? We will discuss the barriers common to women golfers as we enter the world of golf. If you are new to golf or have been playing for a while you are sure to pick up some valuable information.

    For nearly a century, the not-for-profit Colorado Women's Golf Association has existed to promote women's golf in the state of Colorado and preserve the integrity of the game.


    Tom Gibbs, PGA – Becoming a better golfer by choosing the correct practice methods for you.
    Tom is a GofTEC Assistant Regional Manager in the Denver area. He has17 years of golf industry experience. Tom will discuss methods of getting the most effective use out of your practice time. He will help you understand whether your current practice methods are really delivering the results you want.


    Nathan Morris - Effective practice methods for building a trustable game. 
    Nathan has benn a teaching professional with GolfTEC for 5 years. He has given over 8000 lessons and has been recognized as a 2011 Golf Digest “Best Teachers in Your State”.
    GolfTEC - Denver Tech Center We will cover how the brain builds habits and goal oriented practice.  We will also cover taking it to the course and transfer training.


    Pete Lis –  Rub of the Green, How Knowing the Rules of Golf can Help your Game
    Pete Lis is a Francis Quimet Scholarship recipient and a graduate of the Golf Academy of the Carolinas in Myrtle Beach, SC. Pete is a past P.J. Boatwright, Jr. Intern for the Colorado Golf Association and worked one year with the Golf Association of Philadelphia as their Junior Golf Coordinator before returning to the CGA. He is currently the Director of Rules and Competitions for the Colorado Golf Association.

    2012 brings some new changes to the Rules of Golf. Pete will inform you of these changes and present common rules situations while providing answers to your rules of golf questions.


    Patrick, Nuber, PGA
    Patrick is the 2011 Colorado PGA Teacher of the Year. He is a Certified PGA Professional in Glf Instruction and has been with GolfTEC since 2005 and is currently the Manager of Teaching Quality for all of their learning centers. He will help you learn the tour proven techniques used into and around the greens that will allow you to get the ball closer to the hole, save your scores, and lead to ultimate score reduction. Fundamentals covered will be best practices for clubs to use, chipping basics, pitching basics, lobbing basics, and bunker basics. 


    Ed Oldham , PGA–  Characteristics of Great Golfers
    Ed is a PGA Certified Master Professional is Golf Instruction and was the 1999 Colorado PGA Teacher of the Year. Ed is annually listed as one of the Top Teachers in the Southwest Region by Golf Magazine and one of the Top Teachers in Colorado by Golf Digest. Ed has been a PGA Member since 1986 and has been the Head Golf Professional at The Ranch Country Club in Westminster, Colorado since 1991. What makes a great player? Sound swing mechanics? Great course management? Strong will? Ed will share his experience coaching and observing great golfers he has seen over the years to help you identify your strengths and weaknesses and become a more complete player.


    Steve Patterson, PGA – Is that Belly Putter for Real?
    Steve is the PGA Director of Instruction at the Fossil Trace Golf Club in Golden. He will talk about common putting woes. Can you say the yips? And if the belly putter really works.


    Stan Sayers, PGA – Reading of the Greens
    Stan Sayers is the Director of Instruction at the Meta Golf Learning Center at Broken Tee Golf Course and has taught golf for 25 years. He has been elected to the Consumer Council’s Top Instructors in the Country. His clients include PGA and LPGA professionals.

    Stan will take us through the nuances of reading greens. Using the AimPoint system that you see on television golf bradcasts he will discuss not only that the line of putt is speed dependent but there is truly a perfect line that maximizes your chance of holing the putt.


    Dan Sniffin, PGA – Why did my golf ball do that? The cause and effect relationship between impact and ball flight.
    Dan is the Assistant Center Manager at the GolfTEC Park Meadows location. He played on the University of Colorado Golf Team and was the Colorado PGA Apprentice Player of the Year in 2008. Dan will help you understand the cause and effect relationship between the golf club and ball flight. He will help you learn how you can make meaningful changes to your swing to get the ball flight you desire and what you can do during the round when things go south.


    Keith Soriano, PGA – Advice Gone Bad… De-bunking common swing advice.
    Keith is a certified PGA Professional and the Head PGA Professional at City Park Golf Course in Denver.
    Have you ever had your golf buddy tell you to keep you head down, keep you left arm straight, or any other confusing advice? They mean well but is doesn’t often help. Keith will debunk common swing tips given to you by your well meaning friends. Have someone in mind? Your spouse? Bring them with you and have a little fun while you learn!


    Dee Tidwell – Building your TOUR Team to Play Your Best Golf
    Owner of Championship Golf Fitness., has worked with PGA tour winners, Arron Oberholser and Joe Durant as their conditioning coach. As a Level Three (TPI) Titleist Performance Institute Certified Golf Fitness Instructor, and an Assistant TPI Fitness Instructor, Dee brings extensive knowledge and experience for the high handicap golfer to the PGA tour pro, which quickly translates into permanent change and success for the golfing client!

    Rick Timm, PGA – Common Swing Faults and their Fixes.
    Rick is the owner of Timm Golf Academy in Aurora.
    Rick will dissect the most  "Common Swing Faults & Fixes"
    Have you ever topped a shot? or Sliced a drive? or bladed a wedge shot?
    Most people will answer YES to all of the above.  Rick will help you
    understand why these shots occur and HOW to fix them.


    Trent Wearner, PGA.  The Essentials of Improving
    Trent  was the 2004 Colorado PGA Teacher of the Year, is a Top 20 Teacher in America Under 40 (Golf Digest), a Top 50 Kids Teacher in U.S. (U.S. Kids Golf), a Top Teacher in the Southwestern U.S. (GOLF Magazine) and a Best Teacher in State (Golf Digest).  He owns the Trent Wearner Golf Academy at Meridian and conducts golf schools at the Broadmoor.
    So your New Year’s resolution is to improve your golf game. Have a plan? Just going to dig it out of the Dirt like Mr. Hogan?


    Doug Wherry, PGA –  Simple versus Complex Swing Movements. Which one is for you?           
    Doug has been a force in Colorado Golf since he won the Colorado State Boys HS Championship in 1981. He played for the University of Texas-El Paso and competed in a US Open Championship before turning pro. He is the owner of Jakes Academy.

    Doug will help you understand how large and small muscle groups work together throughout the golf swing and what your focus should be on to develop a consistent swinging motion.
